The 1st of July saw the first ever Fist of The Midlands event hosted by NSMA and along with it the official birth of SVT knockdown as a competitive combat sport registered under The British Martial Arts & Boxing Association.

The event featured matches for both adults & children in Kyokushin knockdown, NSMA kickboxing, K1 Kickboxing & SVT Knockdown.

4 matches took place in the open weight category under A-Class rules.

We saw some fantastic action with fighters landing some excellent takedowns & throws and some near finishes with standing submissions. The sold out crowd were infused with excitement to witness the head butts & elbow strikes in close quarters alongside the regular striking techniques that had been witnessed in the other arts being showcased earlier that day.

A fantastic start and a very memorable occasion for all involved.
